My responsibilities included properly shelving books, helping students find fun and appropriate materials, assisting the Library Media Specialist in preparing lessons and on occasion filling in with instruction. I also had quite a few clerical duties including inventory, assisting with classroom computers, and accessioning new materials.

There were also various outside and inside duties on the playground, the cafeteria, and morning drop off and afternoon dismissal lines.

FRAME - Fun Reading And Math Experiences

FRAME was a state funded program providing hands on alternative methods to help elementary students better understand math concepts, and to become proficient in reading and comprehension skills. I worked under supervision of a Reading Specialist who created the lessons that I put into practice. I worked with student groups independently and met with the specialist weekly to collaborate.

I was responsible for assessing student English Language Proficiency and designing and implementing lessons geared toward helping them achieve greater language skills. I worked mainly with children who already had a basic level of English proficiency.
