Summary

I am a semi-retired widow having moved to Iowa from Maryland. My husband was a 25 year Navy Veteran and originally from Correctionville, Iowa.

I have and still serve on the BOD of the condominium association where I previously lived. I have served on the board as secretary, president, and currently as secretary/treasurer, since 2014. The community consists of 310 townhouse units with a playground and swimming pool. In my capacity as president of the board from 2016 until 2023 I worked with numerous vendors, our property management company, and homeowners to address needed repairs and other issues that might arise. I also, worked with Arundel Community Development Services and obtained 3 grants totaling over !.5 million dollars for roof replacements in the community, and am currently working on applying for grants for needed repairs and replacement of items in the community. Since serving on the board I have worked with local and state elected officials on issues within the area of where the townhomes are located.

I'm the mother of 3 grown children and grandmother of 4. Retired to move to Iowa and enjoy life and try and keep busy.

Accomplishments

Was active in Scouts with my son from Tiger Cubs through Boy Scouts. Participated in camp outs and numerous other activities as a leader and as the parent with the large pickup to carry equipment.

Certification

  • I have received training with CAI for community associations governance. Taken online certification through them and the state of Florida and Montgomery county Maryland, to do with knowing what is necessary and needed to govern a condominium association correctly.
