Educational Philosophy

  • My personal understanding is that children learn best when they feel welcomed, encouraged and actively involved in the process. Spanish instruction for elementary-aged students should extend beyond vocabulary and grammar by creating opportunities for students to listen, speak, explore, create, and connect.
  • My goal is to help students discover that learning Spanish is not just another language - It’s opening a gateway to communication, culture, community and new experiences
  • My approach incorporates age-appropriate activities such as:
  • Interactive games and movement-based activities / Songs, music, and rhythm
  • Storytelling and age-appropriate literature
  • Arts and crafts connected to Spanish-speaking cultures
  • Conversational practice and role-play \ Cultural celebrations and traditions
  • Collaborative activities and group projects
  • Vocabulary-building activities \ Spanish-language games and challenges
