I took 7 cohorts of students from 6th grade through their first year post secondary. Manson High School was 80% free and reduced lunch and 75% minority and that is how they qualified for the grant. It was my job to make sure that barriers to the underserved students were removed and that they were had the skills to successfully to move on to post secondary education and training options.
To do this successfully I put programs in place at each level.

Started a mock job interview program which began in 9th grade

Taught free English classes n the evenings for parents.
I had many jobs at Edmonds-Woodway starting in the Main Office and Attendance Office and quickly moving into classrooms to help with students that needed remedial help.
I ran the CCC Lab which had the remediation lessons on the computers and had six periods a day of twenty students each.
We covered English, math and science lessons and I helped tutor students through these lessons. I did this for most of my time at EWHS and then for the last four years I worked on a Federal Grant which led at-risk students through cohorts and provided support and removed barriers to their pathway through high school.
