Officer Delano has been in law enforcement for a total of six years. Officer Delano started his career in the Cleveland County Detention Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Officer Delano promoted to the rank of Corporal after five months at the Detention Center.
Officer Delano became a Police Officer for the University of Oklahoma Police Department in 2018. Upon completion of field training, Officer Delano was selected to be a part of a Response Team for major sporting events. While at the University of Oklahoma, Officer Delano completed ARIDE Training as well as FLETC's Tactical Medical Training for First Responders.
Officer Delano was hired with the City of Hurst in February of 2020. Officer Delano attended the Police Academy and was voted Class President by his peers. Officer Delano was voted Rookie of the Year for 2021 by his peers. Officer Delano was selected to the Northeast Tarrant County Area SWAT Team where he became a Breaching Instructor as well as an Explosive Breacher. Officer Delano was the recipient of the MADD Heros Award in 2022. Officer Delano obtained his TCOLE Instructor License and is an FTO, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Police Driving Instructor, and Advanced Arrest Search and Seizure Instructor. Officer Delano teaches all topics to new recruits and current Patrol Officers.
