Leads a team of eight Photojournalists, providing training, resources and mentorship on assignments.
Works to grow the talent pool at WWMT by participating in search and screen, reel review and candidate selection.
Leads the training for new Photojournalists-familiarize them with the equipment, how the day to day operations work, educate them on how to work with a reporter and how to work by themselves.
Holds one on one critique sessions with the Photojournalists to give feedback and guidance on their work.
Shoots and edits around 250 stories a year for television and web under tight deadlines for all our newscasts.
Creatively looks for new shots, angles in order to best present the story to the viewer.
Edited videos and rearranged shots to match creative or production requirements.
Experience in shooting stories regarding current events, human interest, crime, political events, education and health.
Creates custom graphics and maps when needed for storytelling.
Produced original video content by working collaboratively with reporters, managers and producers to facilitate multimedia production.
Record with multiple camera angles simultaneously to capture dynamic shots.
Has the ability to edit newscasts in full when needed.
Occasionally writes scripts for television and web.
Shows respect to all the individuals we interact with in the community that we encounter on the job.
Works closely with five local law enforcement agencies to help generate interest and tips in local cold cases in our "Unsolved: West Michigan" franchise.
Has been on scene covering multiple mass shooting situations in the state of Michigan.
Received rare clearance to enter a Michigan prison interview an inmate who is working on getting a college degree.
Traveled to Washington D.C with over a hundred veterans of the United States Armed Forces for Mid-Michigan Honor Flight.
Helps the Sports Department when needed.
Experience in shooting Football, Soccer, Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball and Golf.
Conducts interviews with players and coaches after games for our newscasts.
