Dear Hiring Manager,As a dedicated School Counselor with hands-on experience at both the high school and elementary levels, I am excited to express my interest in pursuing a career as a school counselor. Having recently completed my master’s degree in School Counseling, I am eager to utilize my academic knowledge and training to support students holistically.

My internship at Archbishop Stepinac High School, White Plain, NY, allowed me to work directly with students, providing individual counseling, leading classroom guidance lessons, and collaborating with school staff to support students’ needs. Likewise, my internship at Montebello Elementary School, Suffern, NY, equipped me with the skills to deliver age- appropriate interventions. Whether implementing classroom guidance lessons on bullying prevention or collaborating with teachers to identify at-risk students, I gained firsthand experience in tailoring interventions to meet the developmental needs of young learners.

Throughout my graduate and professional journey, I have gained skills that have prepared me to understand and support the diverse needs of all students. My commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere coincides perfectly with providing guidance for students through difficult times, working to resolve conflict, or enabling students to explore their full potential. I am dedicated to creating a nurturing space where every student feels valued and heard at every stage of their educational journey.

Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about possibly contributing to your school’s mission of fostering student success and well-being. I look forward to discussing how my background, skills, and passion can contribute to the positive learning environment you are creating.

Best regards,

Patrick Kirby
