Fire Extinguisher Technician: February 2012-September 2025
Sales/Service/Inspections/Repairs/Plan Review/Installation of all types, sizes and classifications of dry and wet chemical fire extinguishers.

Fire Suppression System Technician: February 2012-September 2025

Service/Inspections/Repairs/Plan Review/Installation of fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens, mobile food trucks/trailers and paint booths codes according to NFPA/California Fire Code standards and regulations.

  • Installed UL 300 compliant fire suppression systems of various manufacturers such as Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Badger Buckeye and Range Guard.
  • Followed and installed according to manufacturers specifications, California Fire Code, NFPA 17A, and NFPA 96 standards.
  • Made repairs and corrections on the plumbing, detection lines, nozzles, nozzle placement, hand pulls and gas valves.
  • Breakdown and recharge pressurized and unpressurized tanks used to hold and discharge chemical in the event of a fire.
  • Inspected and if necessary disposed of hazardous chemicals used in fire suppression systems to extinguish fire.
  • Inspected and weighed cartridges up to manufactures specifications. If necessary replaced discharged cartridges.
  • Notified Fire Emergency Command Center prior to any fire alarm testing that may be required.
  • Ensured exhaust and make-up air was functioning properly with the hood and fire system.
  • Test horn/strobe notification device for operation in the event of a discharged system.
  • Conducted fire finals and inspections with Kern County and Bakersfield City Fire Marshals and Inspectors.
  • Performed preventative maintenance service which was required every 6 months (includes a full inspection of all equipment, replacement of fusible links used to detect fires, hand pull function and gas valve operation).


Able to write invoices, inventory sheets and inspection reports.

Collect payments on invoices by cash, check and credit/debit cards.

Able to schedule future appointments for service with business
owners.

Mostly independent with little to no supervision during shifts but on
occasion will bring a trainee.

Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.


Company owned service is routinely maintained including refueling,
oil changes and wash.

Familiar with Bakersfield and surrounding cities within Kern County
including some in Mono and Inyo County.

Able to install, repair and replace fire extinguisher cabinets.

Apply decals and signs needed to locate and identify in the event of an
emergency.

Educate customers and their employees on the safe use of fire
extinguishers and fire suppression systems.
