Having a fascination with government, I have invested my time at Radford University to learn about how policy affects the American people, and am excited to apply my knowledge in the public sector. During my time at Radford University, I have developed my critical thinking and writing skills. After attending Radford University, I looked to further my administrative knowledge within the public sector by attending Virginia Tech’s Master of Public Administration program. This program has become critical in teaching me administrative skills that I look to implement within my career. Behind this knowledge, you will find I am hard-working, dependable, people-loving, and have go getter attitude.
During my time at Virginia Tech I worked as a graduate assistant in the office of auditing, risk, and compliance. I used programs such as teamshare, auditboard, and microsoft excel to work collaboratively with other team members. Tasks included reviewing policies and procedures to make sure they reflect current processes and conducting policy complaint reviews. The goal of position was to create a more effective and efficient environment within Virginia Tech.
Over the summer I worked in the commissioner of the revenue office within the city of Roanoke. This position was a full-time paid competitive internship. Duties included data entry for business licensing, auditing, site vists, handling sensitive personal information, data entry, assessing trust taxes, assessing personal property taxes, assessing taxes by applying different reliefs, and completing projects assigned by the commissioner.
I worked at currently financial office named the Conner Group. While there, I handled supportive administrative duties for Crystal Knuttgen. Duties included filing documents, using programs such as Sales Central and Microsoft Excel, keeping a clear line of communication with clients, and assisting any projects she needs help with trying to implement into her business plan.
As a delivery driver for Fed-Ex, I was very independent from management they could always depend on me to get the packages delivered without complaining or having issues once packages were in transit.
Duties included verifying daily deliveries against shipping instructions before delivering to customers. I achieved consistent safety targets by adjusting driving to different road and traffic conditions, balancing loads and avoiding dangerous driving actions.

Annual income distributions from the Fund shall be used to provide full or partial scholarships for the School of Public and International Affairs and International Affairs in coordination with the program chairs, and according to the following guidelines: 1. Recipient shall be a student in the School of Public and International Affairs who has secured a summer internship within local government in Virginia or North Carolina. 2. Recipients shall be in good academic standing and have a demonstrated interest in local government.
Local Government Management Certificate- Our graduate certificate program in local government management provides the next generation of local government managers and leaders with the tools to advance their careers and to provide exceptional leadership within the communities where they work. The central goal of the program is to offer graduate-level training in local government management that both prepares pre-career students for capable public service at the local level and enhances the capacities of existing local government employees who aspire to be town, city, or county managers or assistant/deputy managers.
