Organize quarterly safety meetings informing employees of safety plans and contacts in case of unforeseen incidents. Discuss accidents and current safety issues to make employees aware. Conduct housing and barn inspections to proactively address potential concerns before escalation. Work with HR on workman's comp issues and follow up with injured employees. Inform tenants of housing contract with expected responsibilities and expectations. Coordinate with managers and vendors of upcoming maintenance task for repairs needed. Document all vendor cost and other expenditures and confirm cost with manager to ensure farm is staying on budget.
As a concrete contractor I dealt with many customers, developers, builders, and homeowners. Coordinating schedules with all involved, maintaining good communication to provide the best product in a timely manner
Learned the farm by working on training and pasture sides. Completed all task asked of me such as hauling muck, repairing fences, making barn repairs, track maintenance, welding, concrete construction. Along with many other projects all of which helped in understanding many aspects of the horse industry.
Worked in many departments in many roles ending up my career in a project group. Coordinating projects with management and vendors, most for improvements some for expansion. Had many opportunities to develop skills in the plant and at technical schools. Participated in safety and quality improvement groups in every department I was in.
Worked on many farms planting, cutting, housing tobacco. Helped with hay from the fields to the barn.
