  • Working under optometrists to prepare patients for examination. This includes many kinds of examinations such as annual eye exam, new patient establishment, diabetic eye examination, post operation (usually related to cataract or retinal detachment surgery), contact lens evaluation and contact lens follow up, dry eye examination, special testing, and patients coming in for particular or unknown problem/concern.
  • Obtain medical history from patients which may include any prior surgeries or injuries either relevant or not towards eyes and/or current diabetic treatment.
  • Faxed, filed, and disposed of important patient information while handling with care and integrity to maintain HIPPA regulations.
  • Performed numerous instruments on patients to measure and check health of their eyes. Includes checking pressures for glaucoma, visual field screening to detect any lack of vision central or peripheral and taking ocular pictures of back of eye to look for signs of cataracts, retinal tears, or macular degeneration.
  • Dilated patient eyes as requested by doctors.
  • Assisted with insertion and removal training of contacts both soft and hard with patients of all ages.
  • Performed relevant procedures related to pediatric care including testing for patient stereo, color vision, and eye convergence.
