* Responsible for oversight and management of the city streets, water treatment plant, water distribution system, and wastewater facilities.

* Performance of general maintenance duties such as buildings, grounds, equipment, parks, cemetery and snow removal.

* Responsible for the direct supervision of public works staff, including planning, assigning and reviewing work of subordinates.

* Monitors and adjusts plant operations to ensure water is purified for human consumption.

* Responsible for all water testing to maintain appropriate levels as required by permit.

* Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant to meet the requirements of city, state and federal policies and regulations.

* Plans for future street improvements and coordinates street projects with city engineers.

* Participates in the operations of the water treatment plant, water distribution system and wastewater facility.

* Troubleshoots the pumps and filtering sedimentation-coagulation, chemical mixing, feeding and supplying.

* Operates and monitors motors, pumps, filters and all wastewater treatment equipment.

* Performs maintenance on city streets, sidewalks and curbs; such as grading, construction, repair and reconstruction.

* Maintains city sidewalks, signs, signals, crosswalks and parking markings.

* Oversee maintenance of storm sewers and catch basins.
