  • As the COPS Division Coordinator I am responsible for negotiating and administering twenty six (26) collective bargaining agreements, filing and handling Improper Practice charges, Steward training, grievance filing, filing and preparation for hearings and arbitrations, oversee Labor Relations Representatives working in the COPS Division, develop, plan and implement public campaigns, assist members with outside issues such as Workers Compensation, Fair Labor Standards Act Issues, New York State Pesh complaints, conduct and document labor mangement meetings. Developed and implemented the following initiatives:
  • -Annual law enforcement based training seminar focusing on the latest trends and legislation affecting members.
  • -Initiated and instituted organizing programs and materials to focus specifically on the UPSEU COPS Division.
  • -Organized over 800 new members encompassing 12 different units from all over New York State.
  • -Organized, planned and implemented steward training program specific to the COPS Division.
  • -Partnered with the law firm of Alex Dell to represent members in Workman's Compensation cases, Social Security Disability and New York State Disability Retirement issues.
  • -Partnered with PORAC legal defense fund to insure members were represented in criminal and civil cases arising out of their employment.
  • -Instituted the "Rapid Response Initiative" whereby members are represented during and after critical incidents and/or officer involved shootings.
