Aspiring power industry worker with a diverse background working in team environments. Worked 10 years operating in the emergency response field as a wildland firefighter and Paramedic. Performed manual labor in all weather conditions in hazardous environments where safety, communication, and teamwork were paramount. Worked in the field on high voltage power line crews as well as in the planning division for a major utility on overhead and underground distribution systems. Looking to combine my knowledge, skills, and abilities, with the objective of advancing through a career in the power industry.
Work as a project manager designing overhead/underground distribution residential and commercial high voltage infrastructure. Perform meter spots, inspect existing infrastructure, utilize various software programs to create, build, and communicate project designs. Work closely and in collaboration with customers, fellow planners, contractors, line crews from inception to construction completion.
Worked as a groundman and apprentice lineman on high voltage powerline crews digging holes, framing power poles, working on live secondary distribution wires and maintaining company tools, equipment, vehicles and facilities. Studied electrical theory and performed minor electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
Worked on wildland firefighting engine crews, helitack crews, and handcrews utilizing a variety of hand tools and power tools to construct fire breaks in an effort to suppress wildfires. Worked in a weather conditions in hazardous environments where safety, teamwork and proper communications between crew members, supervisors, and adjoining crews were of utmost importance.
