Growing up my father owned several businesses; including a Christmas tree farm, reforestation nursery, and a heavy equipment business. I spent my youth working on the tree farm. When I turned sixteen, I began working away from the family farm. I started running heavy equipment clearing land for Stimpson Lumbar Company and reconstructing salmon habitat restoration for WSDFW. In my early 20s, I left the family business to expand my life experience. I worked as a residential and commercial plumber for 6 years plumbing homes, log cabins, multi-story apartments and hotels. In my late twenties, I signed a one year contract with Farm and Forest Helicopter. I traveled the pacific northwest along side my assigned pilot, Bill. We completed aerial surveys, chemical application to forest lands, and long line work. My next step in my career was returning to heavy civil construction. I have worked as a laborer, foreman, project manager/coordinator, and superintendent. I have years of experience working with business owners, land owners, and the public. I have worked on several WSDOT projects including Warnick Bluff on the Nooksack River; where we used dual rotor helicopters to place 10k pound structures in and along the river. I completed several Army Corp projects including I-84 road side stabilization along the Columbia gorge and Julia Butler Hanson game refuge tidal gates. I was the working superintendent on several bridge installations for the US Forest Service and WSDFW. Currently, I am a superintendent at Rotschy Inc. where I manage several projects including multiple in Longview, WA. This has given me the opportunity to build relationships with others within the Longview area.
