I have been working full-time at IKEA in Centennial Colorado for the past 11 years in various roles. My current role is Active Selling Leader for Kitchen and Appliances. During my years in customer service I have honed my problem-solving. organization and communication skills.
I am ready to take my skills and follow my passion and change my career. My passion is history, true crime, and solving mysteries. I am looking for an entry-level position as a library assistant, History research assistant, digital archivist assistant, historical transcription, and assistant preservationist/curator.
I am a Colorado Native currently enrolled in online classes at Metropolitan State University of Denver to complete my bachelor’s degree in history. I have completed 3 years of College at Western Colorado University in Gunnison Colorado in Communications and Historic Preservation. In addition, a Graphic Design/Web associate degree with an emphasis on print media from Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado.
I am a volunteer docent with Historic Denver at the Molly Brown House. I have guided walking tours of LoDo in downtown Denver and the Beats walking tour in the Five Points neighborhood. I have audited two classes at CU Denver History Department in Historic Preservation with Dr. Tom Noel. I am currently a digital volunteer on the Zooniverse network. The transcribing projects I am working on now are Murder Scrapbooks and Crime Scrapbooks at the Central Denver Public Library. Ledgers were created and compiled by Sam Howe, a 19th-century Colorado lawman. I am energetic and detail-oriented. Passionate about building connections. I am looking forward to a career where I get to do deep dives into history.
