Hello! I’m a phlebotomist, and my job is to help people by collecting blood samples that go to the lab for testing. Every day, I work with patients who need blood tests, and my role is to make them feel comfortable during the process.

First, I make sure to greet each patient and explain what I’m going to do. Then, I carefully draw a small amount of blood, using special techniques to make it as quick and gentle as possible. After collecting the blood sample, I label it correctly with the patient’s information. Labeling is very important because it makes sure the right sample goes with the right person. Once that’s done, I send the sample to the lab so it can be tested.

As a phlebotomist, I follow strict rules for hygiene and safety. I always use fresh needles, gloves, and other supplies, and I make sure everything stays clean to protect both my patients and myself. My work helps doctors understand what’s going on in the patient’s body so they can make the best decisions for their health.

It’s a rewarding job because I get to help people every day and play a small part in their healthcare journey.

I’m a care assistant, and my job is to help look after elderly people and those with mental health challenges in a care home. My main goal is to make sure that each person feels safe, comfortable, and cared for every day.

I help with daily tasks that some residents might find hard, like getting dressed, eating meals, taking them shopping or moving around. I also make sure everyone takes their medication on time and watch for any signs that they might need extra help or attention. Listening and talking to the residents is another important part of my job. I spend time with them, share stories, and make sure they feel heard and respected.

Being a care assistant means I have to be patient, kind, and understanding. I follow all the safety rules to keep everyone safe, and I work closely with nurses and other staff members. I love my job because I get to make a difference in people’s lives and help them feel cared for and valued every day.
