Accomplishments

At time of hire, 2007, the Sleep Disorders Center of Santa Maria was a small 2 bed, unaccredited lab in an ENT practice running 2 nights per week. I was tasked with improving the existing facility. Admittedly, this was a daunting task for myself as my experience in sleep medicine was limited setting up PAP devices for patients with the home care company that I was associated with at that time. I studied everything that I had available at that time to understand sleep medicine and the practice of polysomnography. The learning curve was steep. However, we are presently a 5 bed lab in our own office, though still associated with otolaryngology, operating 7 nights per week with AASM accreditation for the last 15 years.
