Work History

Simulation Engineer

University Of Illinois Urbana Champaign
Urbana, IL
09.2016 - 08.2019
  • Collaborated with the faculty and researchers at UIUC, and physicians at OSF Healthcare to integrate innovative new technologies like virtual reality (VR) and virtual physiology engine to advance medical simulations. I conceived and prototyped AirwayVR trainer for endotracheal intubation independently [P2, P5, P6].
  • Worked closely with the faculty at University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) and Carle Illinois College of Medicine (CICOM) to develop innovative technology-based curriculum using virtual physiology engine and advanced 3D visualization for training medical students [P3, P4, P7].
  • Developed interactive mixed reality trainer for food safety and handling for the Champaign Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) as an outreach project (Featured news article).
  • Played a leading role in setting up the VR/AR simulation lab at Carle Illinois College of Medicine

Associate System Engineer

IBM
Bengaluru, India
08.2013 - 08.2015
  • Proposed and upgraded middleware codebase in apache webservers, tomcat application servers on 90 plus production servers without unplanned outages. These upgrades were crucial for security integration using SSL and SSO policies.
  • Proposed technical feasibility solutions for new system designs and suggested options for performance improvement of technical components.
  • Ensured zero downtime for 90 plus production and development servers (both windows and UNIX) during the process. Streamlined the migration process of application patches from testing to production environments, resolving a technical issue that was pending for 6 years.
