  • Rewire 125vdc wiring for 4160v switchgear cubicles. Test Breakers to make sure spring charge and close and trip contacts function correctly.
  • Test CTs in 4160v Switchgear and generator with EZCT-2000c and save in computer as pdf and test plan.
  • TTR test PTs in 4160v switchgear, TTR Test 4160v to 480v transformer.
  • Verify 125VDC and 120VAC wiring in 4160kv switchgear cubicles. Make sure switches and auxiliary contacts function correctly. Verify relays are wired correctly and function properly. Check Bus and Line CTs and PTs wiring
  • Ductor (DLRO) test a transformer to determine tap voltage. Ductor 4160v switchgear bus and 480v MCC bus
  • PI (Polarization Index) Meg 480v, 4160v, and 6,900 volt motors.
  • Meg Space heaters and check continuity between phases. Troubleshoot space heaters that short to ground on phase to ground meg.
  • Verify and Meg (Insulation Resistance) Feeder cables from switchgear to Transformer, 5kv Switchgear to 480v MCC, MCC breaker to field motors, welding receptacles, and transformers.
  • Meg Busbars in 5kv switchgears and MCCs.
  • Check continuity on fuses on Welding receptacle disconnects to make sure they are good, meg load side terminated to receptacle to make sure it is good.
  • Check Continuity bus to line, and line to load on MCC breakers to make sure they're good

  • Simulate alarms and trips on Switchgear relays from the transformers 26(Oil Temp), 71(Oil level), 49(Winding Temp Indicator), 63(Rapid Pressure Relief and Pressure Relief Device)

  • Rack out breakers from LV 480v and MV 5kv and 15kv Switchgears.

  • Install breakers back into MCC and Switchgears
  • Discharge Batteries with Torkel, check DC voltage on each battery cell every hour, jumper out batteries if below minimum voltage required before 90% of test. Torque battery leads with insulated torque wrench.
  • Ductor (DLRO) test at 10a on battery cells.
  • Cutover HVAC, UPS, Battery Charger, and Distribution Panels from temporary 480v power to permanent.
  • Test Motor Runs, check motor winding rotation, check Inrush Current and continue checking Current every 15 minutes for 4 hours.
  • Feed 120v with power supply into MCC bucket Motor Starter to perform Interface function tests (Local run and stop, remote control room run and stop). Simulate a trip and a common alarm in relay by injecting current.
  • Check tightness (torque) terminations in panels and MCC buckets, point to point check, Meg (DAR) motor wires.
  • Assist Shermco in Oil Samples for Transformers.
  • Cutover Space Heaters in transformers. Meg and point to point. Check heater resistance, then check voltage and current once energized.
  • Check UPS sytems and Battery Chargers to make sure they are operating correctly. Switch out fuses.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC Panels to ensure they are working properly in eletrical rooms.
  • Check Oil Temp, Oil Level, Pressure Gauge, and Winding Temperature on Transformers. Meg wires to make sure there is no water in them causing a short.
  • Check resistance on space heaters inside 15kv Transformers
  • Install ground clusters on Medium Voltage Switchgears
