    • Key member of the Course Development team. Reviewed, provided input, and updated the Entity Unpostables Internal Revenue Manual (IRM), Instructor Guide, and Student Guide to ensure clarity and increase efficiency.
    • Performs Spot Reviews of other Tax Examiner's work as part of the Quality Review Team to ensure quality standards (e.g., integrity, processes, methods, and deadlines) were met. Identifies errors, provides advice and/or corrections, and completes Quality Review Documents.
    • Acted as backup Lead during periods of management absences to ensure continuity of support to personnel.
    • Regularly recognized for exceptional performance and exceeding all critical job elements (CJEs).
    • Examines and screens mail for documents of necessity to ensure resolution and/or closure of Business and Individual Unpostable cases. Performs research and analysis to ensure information on documents received from taxpayers is accurate.
    • Verifies paper documents match information in inventory control systems, such as Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) and/or Reporting Compliance Case Management System (RCCMS). Receives hard copy documents and inputs into the inventory control system(s).
    • Accesses a variety of systems (e.g., Integrated Data Retrieval System (IDRS), Secretary of State (SOS), Employee User Portal (EUP), Remittance Transaction Research (RTR) website, and the Integrated Automation Tool (IAT)) to view and/or update taxpayers' accounts regarding payments received, review status of the case, and/or to make account adjustments. Evaluates all available information and takes corrective actions, such as credit transfer requests, re-computes tax, and/or penalties and interest. Enters data into automated systems to adjust taxes, penalties, and/or credit adjustments.
    • Communicates with taxpayers by phone or written letter regarding additional information and/or documentation needed, gaining their cooperation by explaining the best option(s) available to resolve problems or questions, mutual interests, and to ensure they understand their responsibilities. Educates taxpayers on action(s) needed to achieve compliance with tax filing/liabilities. Recognizes indications of tax fraud; makes determinations and uses sound judgment concerning taxpayers' data and responses. Determines acceptability of taxpayers' explanation concerning proposed adjustments to income, deduction, payments and/or taxes. Interprets the law as it relates to the issues and if it affects the performance and efficiency of the Internal Revenue Service. Secures payment of delinquent taxes; and determines financial, or uncollectible information.
    • Resolves problems, processes referrals, and works with cases previously closed, bankruptcies, innocent spouses, employee cases, Unpostables, restricted interest, and manual refunds.
    • Maintains the integrity of the master file by identifying transactions that are not compatible with existing master file data or normal processing procedures. Ensures privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
    • Resolves specific Unpostable codes and ensures accuracy of data is maintained on the taxpayer's master file.
    • Performs administrative duties (making copies, collecting and distributing faxes, maintaining printers with paper and toner, etc.) as needed. Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite regularly. Actively participates in team meetings to collaborate and share knowledge. Ensures Single Entry Time Reporting (SETR) input daily.
