I am responsible for redressing wounds according to the nurse practitioner’s orders using various types of wound dressings, medications, negative pressure systems, orthopedic healing aids such as off-loading boots, and applying offloading casting systems and compression wraps and stockings. As a part of the wound care team, patients admitted to the hospital are also seen and wounds addressed, which include but not limited to wound vac application, dressing changes, ostomy care, wound documentation and implementation of protocol orders.
