BeiGene is a global bio-pharmaceutical company that specializes in the development of drugs for cancer treatment. I started off working in their Shanghai China office in June 2020 before I immigrated to USA in March 2021 and have been working in their global procurement team ever since. I have held various roles and responsibilities throughout the procurement globalization transformation, and achieved two promotions due to outstanding performance over 3 years:

• Senior Manager, Global Category Lead (HR & Professional Services) and Team Analytics

Mar 2024 - Present
- Promoted to Senior Manager and Global Category Lead for HR Services and Professional Services, overseeing an annual spend of $90M and leading one direct report.
- Recognized for strong analytics abilities and appointed as Team Analytics to provide analytic insights for all corporate categories (IT, Consulting, HR Services, Professional Services, and Facility Management).
- Lead cross-functional RFP projects and negotiated favorable contracts on a global level.
- Implemented cross-functional initiatives representing Procurement and gained great visibility for Procurement (Financial Excellence controls, One Finance Team initiatives).
- Act as Ariba Super User for global procurement organization, as one of the first category managers to sufficiently adopt Ariba system functionalities since its launch in 2023.

• Sourcing Manager (HR & Professional Services)

Nov 2021 - Mar 2024
- Promoted and brought onto the Global Corporate Category Team and taken the role of category manager of HR services and professional services, managing an $80M annual spend.
- Established category management strategy from scratch, leading to significant cost savings and improved supplier relationships.
- Led cross-functional RFP projects on a global level (Global Contingent Workforce Vendor, Global Legal Platform, Global Benefits Platform, etc.) and achieved optimal results.
- Realized cost savings of $3M in 2022 and $3.5M in 2023.
- Built a strong preferred supplier list and rate cards for various sub-categories.
- Established strong partnerships with internal stakeholders.

• Senior Procurement Specialist (All Indirect, Contractor)

- Facilitated transformation of Global Procurement team, bridging regional divides and driving alignment with global category-based strategies.
- Identified saving opportunities in various Corporate and Commercial categories for ex-China.
- Implemented new Global Procurement Policy and achieved 0-1 procurement engagement and involvement with key stakeholders through demonstrating expertise and value.
- Inserted with procurement expertise (RFPs, contract negotiations, vendor selection, etc.) wherever needed as the sourcing team gradually being established.

WuXi AppTec is a global CRO (Contract research organization) that provides a broad portfolio of R&D and manufacturing services that enable companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries worldwide to advance discoveries and deliver groundbreaking treatments to patients. I worked in the procurement department. My responsibilities and main achievements were:
• Managed diverse indirect categories including Sales and Marketing, Meetings and Events, HR Services, and facility management.
• Led cross-functional RFP projects and conducted successful contract negotiations, ensuring optimal terms and cost efficiency.
• Established indirect procurement scope and processes from inception, fostering efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
• Created a robust "preferred vendor pool" for multiple categories, implementing quantified and standardized supplier KPIs.
• Maintained a Level A KPI every year and received an A+ in 2018 for outstanding performance, an award only given to top 5% of employees.
• Delivered annual cost savings of 6%.

Merak was a tech startup founded by one of my friends. It offered an event sourcing and procurement system for corporations. I was one of the company’s founding members. I mainly provided strategic support to the CEO.
• Research: Conducted comprehensive research and analysis to facilitate informed decision-making and market positioning.
• PR: Established and cultivated the corporate image of Merak, fostering relationships with industry media and stakeholders. Generated engaging content across various platforms including WeChat official accounts and LinkedIn, enhancing brand visibility and reputation. Applied for and coordinated participation in relevant domestic and international exhibitions, increasing brand exposure and networking opportunities.
• Fundraising: Played a key role in securing 15 million RMB in Angel Round funding, demonstrating strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• System Design: Collaborated closely with the CEO in co-designing the procurement system, leveraging technical expertise and strategic insight to develop a robust and innovative solution.

LL Flooring (formerly Lumber Liquidators Flooring) is an American retailer of hardwood flooring. I worked in their sourcing office in Shanghai. My main responsibilities and achievements were:
• Managed categories of Meeting & Events and Business Travel, overseeing procurement processes and supplier relationships to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Led RFPs and negotiations for preferred hotels, exhibitions and conferences, driving cost savings and securing favorable terms for the organization.
• Achieved significant cost savings of 10% based on an annual spend of $4 million, demonstrating effective cost management strategies and procurement expertise.

INSITE is a commercial real estate company that provides consultancy services and investment services in commercial real estate. I worked in the procurement department. My main responsibility and achievements were:
• Supported the commercial procurement team with a focus on categories including meetings & events and sales & marketing, contributing to the efficient operation of procurement processes.
• Assisted in managing major RFPs for promotional events, creative designs, video productions, and advertisements, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of essential services.
