Financial professional with a long record of consistency and success in a corporate and entrepreneurial setting.
Founded this financial consultancy practice to advise closely-held ventures on start-up and capital raising activities. The primary client, Eleusis Medical Products, a company I founded as a result of working with a prospect that came to me while at Alex Brown, is a pharmacy business focused on alternative distribution to psychiatric, clinical corporate clients. The second venture which came to me as a result of my network in the blockchain community, is focused on lowest-cost production in Bitcoin mining. Both ventures are managed by competent leadership and in the final stages of entering into operation. My role is in an advisory and capital introduction capacity on an ongoing basis.
Co-founded a team of 4 investment professionals focused on ultra-high-net worth clients in need of investment banking services and wealth management from our firm. My responsibilities were primarily co-running portfolios in separate accounts described as Global GARP (disruptive technologies theme), and Fintech (including blockchain). I built the quantitative decision support model for selecting and trading of the public securities included in our model discretionary portfolios. I also networked with members of the Investment Banking division and in the financial services industry to attract qualified business owners as clients. I also oversaw the creation of a digital marketing platform designed to build inbound referrals directly to our team. Our team successfully raised assets in excess of $200 million over a 4 year period in addition to our existing assets. My book of business, both under my direct management and oversight of assets reached over $180 million. This does not include the assets of the overall team which was several multiples above that amount.
Founded an Registered Investment Advisory firm with the corpus of my existing client base. Developed Global GARP, and Event-Driven investment strategies with a team of 5 financial professionals. Starting in 2012, developed an interest in Fintech and blockchain technologies. I established a second office in the Bay area where I learned about and networked with Fintech companies and pioneers. Developed new business and maintained client relationships through the financial crisis and beyond. Increased firm profitability at an annual rate of 23% without any regulatory incidents.
In this role, I added to my financial advisory skillset from my previous employment with practical cases in offshore asset protection strategies. Worked with UBS AG and parent company tax attorneys to set up structures in Switzerland on behalf of clients who were concerned with the the health of the global economy and their personal risk exposure. Worked in partnership with other advisors to manage Global GARP portfolios as part of a diversified investment, tax and estate strategy. Developed new business and maintained client relationships through the onset of the Great Financial Crisis. Successfully defended myself in a lawsuit by the firm upon my departure to start my firm in the wake of its legal problems with the Federal government.
Worked in the investment department of the private bank servicing a high net worth client base with an asset base of over $750 million in assets. Managed diversified portfolios of public equities, fixed income, and alternative investments. Employed the quantitative strategy developed during my previous employment to manage the equity side of client portfolios with consistent excess returns. Consistently ranked in the top tier of performers of the portfolio managers at Northern Trust. Participated in leadership meetings. Engaged in public speaking to a base of clients and prospects on a quarterly basis. Closed business prospects with new business development officers in client presentations. I began this position as an assistant VP but was promoted within a year once I was assigned to replace a departing manager.
Worked full-time during the summer and part time during the school year to evaluate and help to write proposals for community re-development, adaptive re-use, real estate projects involving private-public partnerships for the Society Hill and Old City Historic Districts of downtown Philadelphia.
Assigned to the Library Research Group to support the Investment Bank in financial data retrieval for prospecting target clients and developing of offering documents.
