Sr. Manager of Logisitcs

Loders Croklaan
05.2007 - 09.2014
  • Oversaw and led a team of ten employees that managed the efficient and timely transportation (via truck, rail & barge) of oil products from raw materials plant to refinery manufacturing plant then to distributors and customers.
  • Pushed employees to come up with innovative ways to work smarter not harder. Efficiency and frugality are time and money savers. Pushed for resourcefulness, self-sufficiency and invention. My requirement was, "bring me solutions not just problems".
  • Worked directly with customers to define their needs of timely deliveries, and what each one's requirements and expectations were. Our commitment was to earn their trust and open lines of communication directly to our department vs. just customer service.
  • Engaged in organizational activities with expert knowledge of business operations, market trends and competitor activities. Always looked at long term plans to improve our performance, not just immediate temporary fixes
  • Identified numerous opportunities to save money through extensive research and intense negotiations. Saved the company over $2million in the first year. Over a seven year period saved over $15 million in logistics costs across the board
  • Researched market trends and used them to help create smooth, effective and timely delivery of products working with trucking companies, railroads, barge companies & warehouses all across the United States.
  • Built strong working relationships with stakeholders through respectful and effective communication. If there was a disagreement or conflict it was resolved with solid information and reasoning. My department was the backbone of the company. It was my knowledge that helped resolve conflicts where other departments did not understand.
