Work History

PM-01 OAS Processing

Employment and Social Development Canada
11.2022 - Current

Working at Service Canada, initially in the Call Center, where I answered inquiries, updated information, and provided clients with accurate details on OAS, GIS, and CPP. Currently, as part of the OAS processing team, I work on client OAS and GIS applications. My key responsibilities include assessing claimant eligibility, approving applications, and sending correspondence.

  • Install Rogers phone, high speed internet and digital cable.
  • In May of 2010 I was promoted to commercial technician.
  • Install security cameras and Wi-Fi. (structured wiring)
  • Work independently and training of new employees.
  • Did Site Surveys to identify any service or safety issues commercial properties may have.

Service technician

TES (Total Employment Solutions)
08.2008 - 06.2009
  • Worked with a certified IBM technician at Bank of Nova Scotia Branches.
  • Removed and replaced key computer systems, debit pos hardware, and printers.
  • Manually keyed in inventory to main inventory server. (Data Entry).
  • Updated bios and software where necessary.
  • Made sure work was done in a timely manner and to the expectations of the customers.

Shipper/Receiver

Dukes Transport/Manitoulin Transport
02.2008 - 07.2008
  • Held key responsibility for hold for pickup customer merchandise.
  • Responsible for locating and organizing customer freight everyday. Sorting it in such a way that other members of my team could find it easily.
  • Call and inform customers upon receiving that their freight was ready and any charges or claims that may have occurred.
  • While here I also completed a forklift course. With this course I was able to freely move any large crates, equipment and general heavy freight.
  • If things were slow in afternoon I would make deliveries/pickups in stake body or flat body trucks (airbrake enabled). Was responsible for securing freight and filling out required paperwork.
  • I left this job because of the very expensive cost of living in the town of Fort Mac Murray and the shortage of Apartments.

Service Tech 1

Cameron Well and Valve Company
12.2006 - 04.2007
  • After a 2 week training period in Grand Prairie and passing all required physical and written certifications I was sent to Fort Nelson, BC to further my knowledge of the Natural Gas Industry.
  • While at Cameron I learned how to install, repair and replace Natural Gas wellheads and valves (sweet and sour).
  • Supervised the landing of hangers through BOP with up to 4000psi. Hangers stop the flow of gas and hang the needed gas tubing until changes can be made to BOP. Also, removed hangers after BOP was changed/repaired.
  • Used Lubricator on existing wells to install/remove plugs for service rigs. I used the hydraulic system which requires 2 technicians to do. We worked with up to 3000psi with these.
  • When in shop we would prepare for next job or grease, repair or replace customer onsite equipment.
  • I also used forklift and mobile boom/lift trucks for installing wells and valves.
  • This was a winter job that required extra technicians while winter roads were open.
