Academically successful high school graduate with considerable strengths in expository writing, literary analysis, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

Has considerable work experience in facilities maintenance, food preparation and safety, and customer service.

• FUTURE PROBLEM SOLVING

I participated in this academic program for 8 years, 5th-12th grade, and competed in numerous regional, state, and international competitions. As part of a team, I qualified for the international competition six times and placed as a top three and top ten finalist on two occasions. Through this program, I also competed in numerous competitive skit performances and story-writing competitions. 

• MUSIC

Throughout high school, I played the clarinet and piano for my school band. I was nominated and selected for the Coe College honor band on two separate occasions. 

• CHESS

Throughout high school, I played competitive chess, participating in the chess club at the University of Iowa for about one year, and competing in a variety of tournaments, over the board and online.

• LONG-DISTANCE RUNNING

In high school, I independently trained for and ran several half-marathons. My best time was 01:57:22, and I placed 1st in my age group on that particular race.
