I graduated High School in 2021 with a 4.00 GPA and attended Oklahoma Christian University on a full-ride basketball scholarship. I am a Biology/Pre-Med student and want to be an orthopedic surgeon after medical school with an emphasis on sports medicine. After playing two (2) years of college basketball, I decided to focus full-time on my classes and turned in my scholarship to become a fulltime student. Without the scholarship money, I now work as many hours per week to support myself during college. I routinely work several double shifts per week at Charleston’s as a waitress, as well as work as a legal assistant/”runner” at a law firm, to make ends meet. It is very difficult being a fulltime student and working as much as I do, but it is worth it because it is helping me achieve my goal of becoming a surgeon. Needless to say, I am a very goal-oriented and hard-working person.
