• Serve as a senior technical authority on nuclear physical security and physical protection systems.
• Assess the effectiveness of physical protection programs for nuclear facilities, materials, transportation activities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Conduct or support security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, threat assessments, and security program evaluations.
• Evaluate integrated physical protection systems, including detection, assessment, delay, access control, communications, command and control, and response functions.
• Provide technical expertise regarding Design Basis Threat (DBT) and other threat-informed security planning methodologies.
• Review security plans, policies, procedures, technical specifications, and facility security documentation for adequacy and regulatory compliance.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend technically sound and risk-informed corrective actions or compensatory measures.
• Support the design, modification, testing, and evaluation of physical security systems and security-related facility features.
• Participate in security exercises, performance testing, tabletop exercises, drills, and readiness assessments.
• Evaluate protective force capabilities, response strategies, security force integration, and coordination with external response organizations, as appropriate.
• Provide expertise in insider-threat mitigation, personnel security interfaces, access authorization, and defense-in-depth security principles.
• Support nuclear material protection and security considerations associated with storage, handling, transportation, and facility operations.
• Conduct independent technical reviews, assessments, audits, and program evaluations.
• Develop technical reports, assessment findings, recommendations, briefings, and decision-support materials for senior leadership and clients.
• Provide technical mentoring, training, and knowledge transfer to security personnel, engineers, analysts, and program managers.
• Support incident analysis, lessons-learned activities, corrective-action programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of emerging threats, security technologies, regulatory developments, and evolving nuclear security practices.
