My job at Fairfield Medical Associates consisted of initially assisting with referrals by contacting patients to ensure they were aware of their referral and confirming whether the referred practice had reached out to schedule their appointment. I later transitioned to the clinical back office, where I worked patients up prior to their appointments by escorting them to exam rooms, obtaining and documenting vital signs, reviewing medical history and current medications, and preparing them to be seen by physicians and nurse practitioners. I assisted with basic clinical tasks, maintained clean and organized exam rooms, ensured accurate charting, and supported efficient patient flow while providing compassionate care and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
