Biologist with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science and Engineering and a background spanning biological research, field ecology, conservation assessment, natural resource monitoring, and Maine freshwater fisheries. Experience includes inland fisheries survey fieldwork with Maine IF&W staff, water-quality and aquatic invertebrate sampling, road-stream crossing and erosion-control work in northern Maine working forests, conservation research and IUCN Red List assessment work, and five years as a Registered Maine Guide focused primarily on brook trout and landlocked salmon fisheries. Brings strong skills in biological data collection and interpretation, technical writing, spatial and field-data tools, public communication, and learning new scientific methods efficiently. Seeking to apply this background directly to the assessment, protection, and management of Maine’s inland fisheries resources.

I am an environmental scientist with a strong passion for fieldwork, along with a diverse knowledge of field assessments. I am committed to high-quality data collection in all conditions. I love the environment and have a desire to contribute to its understanding and preservation.

Having built extensive work experience across a variety of roles, including self-employment, I am now pursuing a career change by studying for a degree in Ecology and Conservation at the University of Lincoln. This path reflects my deep passion for the natural world, particularly the conservation of UK protected species, rewilding, and habitat restoration. I am especially fascinated by animal physiology and behaviour, and I am eager to apply my knowledge to hands-on conservation efforts that make a tangible difference.
As part of my studies, I have developed strong laboratory skills, including microscopy and specimen preparation. I am proficient in using light microscopes to analyze biological samples and have experience with key preparation techniques such as staining and sectioning to enhance observations. These skills have strengthened my ability to examine the microscopic structures of plants, animals, and microorganisms, deepening my understanding of ecological interactions and physiological processes.
I am highly motivated to obtain protected species licences, including those for bats, great crested newts, and dormice, and I am actively seeking practical experience in species surveys to work towards these qualifications. Dedicated, professional, and enthusiastic, I am committed to developing my expertise and contributing to meaningful conservation work that protects and restores biodiversity.

My Coastal Environmental Science and Society degree combined with training and experience has provided me with a great foundation of knowledge and skills. I learn new processes quickly and I have experience in research/application , leading environmental education programs, as well as Leading presentations and public speaking. I have a resourceful approach to problem-solving, tackling challenges head-on and I consider obstacles learning experiences. I'm a people person with high energy and a lot of ambition to succeed.
