As a social media strategist, I was tasked with creating an Instagram account from scratch to promote the musical talents of Howard University students. With no existing following, I knew that I had to create a platform that was engaging and would draw in followers who were interested in music and Howard University's vibrant culture. Through careful planning and execution, I was able to turn this account, which we named Howardmusiq, into a thriving community for creatives.

To begin, I conducted extensive research on the target audience and current trends in the music industry. I then crafted a social media strategy that aligned with the values and aesthetic of Howard University. I focused on creating visually stunning content, featuring a variety of music genres, and highlighting the unique personalities and talents of the students.

Using a combination of hashtags, location tags, and influencer collaborations, I was able to grow the following of Howardmusiq steadily. As the account began to gain traction, I began to incorporate interactive features such as polls, Q&A sessions, and user-generated content to increase engagement and foster a sense of community among followers.

Through consistent content creation and strategic planning, Howardmusiq became a hub for musical talent at Howard University, with a following of over 700 and counting. It has become a platform that students can use to showcase their talent, connect with other musicians, and be a part of the vibrant culture of Howard University.
