  • Rework: Rework and modifies various models and types of turbine, compressor blades and fan blades, using pneumatic grinders, rotary files, electric grinders, hand files, stones, abrasive cloth. Reworks parts to remove or blend out nicks, dents, pits, protrusion and burrs while not exceeding rework limits. Use precision measuring to assure specified tolerances are maintained.
  • Blade Sorting: Sort all types and models of turbine, compressor blades and fan blades as to part number and classification. Uses chord length, depth gauges and radius gauges to determine blades that are in excess of rework limits.
  • Blade Weighing and Patternizing: Sets up scale according to type of blade being weighed IAW applicable technical data. Blades are weighed with known weight and recorded. Input data into ERSBS Plot program. Take information given and patternize blades into the set in conjunction with the patternized sheet and build set so that the installers of the blades will know exactly where each blade will be installed on the engine.
  • Chemical Etch: Inspects parts for damage by visual means. Applies chemical etching compound (Hazardous material type A, B, and C Acid) to blade IAW technical Data.
