Accomplishments

I have over 26 years of research and lecturing experience with a reputation for meeting and surpassing all challenges, goals, and objectives. A pragmatic and focused individual with a unique combination of intuitive and analytical capabilities to meet the institution's and student's needs. I am known to be the trouble-shooter and was assigned to tasks that are too problematic or unsolvable. For example, at Gordon College, I was assigned to head the committee to save the summer program from cost-overruns and cancellation. I managed to to save the summer program and by changing the courses offered and cutting faculty pay if the student registering for the class is below 10/32. The program actually turn a profit after implementing my plans. Later that year, I was voted by the faculty to rewrite the faculty handbook. A task that has been left unfinished for years but I manage to complete in 3 months (passed unanimously by the faculty and administration). At University of Pikeville, I was responsible for establishing the Biomedical Science Department (a task that I complete in a semester). I was also responsible for establishing the 3+4 program for Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO) and the 3+3 program for Tanner College of Medical Dentistry (TCMD). These are 3 year undergraduate programs where the students will complete their 4th year after their first year in graduate school. 3+4 program for KYCO has received SACSCOC accreditation. We are waiting for the approval for TCMD. Presently, I am working with East Tennessee State University and University of Charleston (WV) to complete their versions of 3+4 programs. After being selected as the Program Coordinator of Biomedical Science in 2022, I worked exhaustively to increase the number of our graduates entering graduate schools. Before establishing BMS, the number of graduates entering graduate school are between 1-4 students. Rarely will we have a graduate entering medical school such as University of Kentucky (UK) or Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM). I am proud to say that last year (2023), we have 18 graduate and 12 entered medical school, and 6 entered optometry school and/or doctorate programs at UK or LMU.
