As a proud product of this great community, I, Phillip Daniel Waddell, have waited for an opportunity such as this one for many years! As I spent five years working with and absorbing leadership skills, and the ability to build trust to impact my city through this very monument, I asked my whole church to pray for me to acquire this position as the new Recreation Center Director. This desire is, fortunately, equipped with strong skills in staff management, event coordination, and program development. I have also demonstrated success in increasing community engagement and optimizing service delivery through effective training and mentoring initiatives with my church, through my financial service license, and with a strong music background, which includes being a DJ, coordinating, and hosting public and private events. With me being a long time participant and official of sports, I have adequate knowledge of numerous sport activities such as basketball, baseball, soccer, ping pong, football, pool, & others with the ability to teach some and coordinate coaching for all. As a Deacon in my community-based church for over 20 years, I believe my attendance record, influence in the community (29 years of management experience), wide range of skills and connections, and ability to lead as well as follow make this position change the face of our great city!
