  • I have worked in the International Space Station Research Lab (IRL) in my high school for three years, which is a project that allows students to design experiments that test the different properties of a particular subject in microgravity.
  • We have made several different experiments. The first one that I participate in was the study of how solutions will crystallize in micro gravity. We specifically designed chambers that will be used to contain the solution and used a 3D printer to print them.
  • Another objective of my team was to discover how metals respond to corrosion in microgravity, something that might affect construction material in space.
  • I was in charge of the assembly process of the experiment chamber, including soldering the wires that connected to the electronic equipment. I also learned about some basic ideas on designing and operating the 3D printer
