Community Activist and Volunteer work

2012- present (10 Years +): Election Poll worker and Deputy Registrar with Maricopa County Elections Department

2006 - 2015: Tax Aide volunteer - helped with free tax preparation services

2006 -2015: Volunteer, City of Scottsdale senior center recreation services.

2016 -2020: Actively involved with Indivisible in organizing GOTV campaigns and volunteer training recruitment efforts.

2017- present: League of Women Voters of Arizona and League of Women Voters of Metro Phoenix.

  • 2017-2019: Member volunteer - coordinated voter registration drives at Metro Phoenix shopping Mall, organized members to develop a Legislative Analysis team for advocacy.
  • 2019 - present: Local League Activities- Currently serving on the LWV Metro Phoenix board. 1 year as state liaison, and then as president elect and president. Helped the board create systems and structures for managing league processes, data resources and assets. Provided leadership for the board to conduct strategic conversations, formalize board committees scope and charge, distribute leadership opportunities for new board leaders, recruit diverse members. When I assumed leadership of the local board we had 120 members. With the help of an active and energetic membership chair and committees we are close to 320 members. We continue to expand. We have a strong voter services program, we expanded our presence in the community by tabling in over 20 events through the year. Helped bring local league communications at all level to the league principle of speak with one voice and adhere to league branding. Helped transition the league to Club Express.
  • 2019- present: State League activities - Serve as the Advocacy and Action chair since 2019. Sharing this role with a Vice Chair. Brought LWVAZ into the VOTE411 family, expanded the utilization of vote411 to all our local leagues. Generated funds to support Vote411, MDW, Defend Democracy activities through grants from LWVUS and c4 table partners. Expanded use of League in Action (out reach Circle) to use VAn to do texting and phone banking to voters. Am the LWVAZ designated lobbyist since 2019, and provide oversight to 6 registered lobbyists. over 6 registered lobbyists. The League at the c4 table, and major coalitions- voting rights, election advocacy, election protection, election sabotage. Serve as the LWVAZ spokesperson and provide leadership on any litigation related actions.
  • 2021 - present : Leadership roles: Served as president elect and president. Incoming president for 2024-2025.


2022-2024 member of the nominating commission for nominating members to the Commission of Appellate Court Appointments _ this commission appoints members to the Arizona Redistricting Commission, Member of the Debate and forums committee of the Clean Elections Commission.
