High achieving college senior attending UC Riverside, completed Bachelor's degree in three years. Received Sociology degree with a minor in Chicano Studies. As a social worker she will be providing social services and resources towards her Latino community. All of her past experiences have allowed her to work with people from different walks of life. She not only has an academic understanding of their social circumstances but also has actually worked with these individuals first hand, making her more than ready to take on a social worker position.
A year-round Science-based program that works with elementary and middle school students teaching them about the values and skills of the scientific method. She helped coordinate the activities for students and instructed the other volunteers led by Dr. Gillete. This program encouraged learning and educational development for young minds, allowing her gain a lot of experience with children.
She was in charge of working with children during the programs that the library offered throughout the year. She spent so much time in the lirary that she helped train some of the newer librarians through community events and programs. She was offered many creative opprotunuties for community leadership in this role.
She feed and clothe people in poverty at homeless shelters throughout the year. She also taught, guided, and oversaw many of the activities with the children of the church. Was a huge participant during the summer programs as she made sure the children we were versed in the Christian religion.
Currently an active member in the club “A Friend in Me” at UCR, where she goes out to support and meet with various cancer patients on a monthly basis. They offer support, guidance, and comfort to individuals suffering through a difficult time in their lives. She also found herself counseling some of the patients about their struggles
She takes part in Muejes Unidas, an organization on campus that helps support other young latinas. While the main focus is to create a space of unity for other females they also strive for the betterment of the RAZA by addressing social, economic, and educational issues within society.
Volunteering at Vanguard Preparatory School to further help students on their academic journeys. Provides guidance, tutoring, monitoring, and assists the instructor with other class activities.
She's taken part in two protests, the UCR TA Strike during her second year of college and participated in the Protest Encampments on campus and brought awareness about the events in Palestine. She makes a constant effort to engage in community activism to make a change in her community.
Currently volunteering and working closely with Girl Scout Troop as she supervises and assists the activities for the girls she guides. She shares her knowledge and skills to encourage and inspire the young female leaders of tomorrow.
Underground Scholars supports previously incarcerated/system impacted individuals through academic resources. We also work in collaboration with Chicano Student programs, giving Latinos and indigenous people a space where their voices can be heard.
Was as an Orientation Leader at UC Riverside over the summer. She delegated and managed groups of students, families, and had to collaborate with many coworkers simultanousily. During that time she had guided students on how to enroll in their classes, directed them through the campus, led group activitiies, provided emotional/physical counseling, and was an open resources for students during their entirety of their stay. This job forced her to take on the role of a financial aid worker, adademic counselor, emotional support, professor, tour guide, and a peer mentor. She had the opprotunity to work with various individuals from very diverse cultural backgrounds.
