I'm Poojitha H P, currently pursuing an MPH degree at the University of New Haven. I hold a Pharm D degree from M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences in Bangalore, India, with a strong foundation in Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics, especially in my later years of study. During my academic journey, I actively participated in over two community-based programs, including the Pulse Polio Program.
In addition to my academic background, I'm dedicated to expanding my knowledge through online certification courses in areas like Summary Statistics in Public Health, Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials, and Hypothesis Testing in Public Health from John Hopkins University. In September 2021, I completed my Pharm D and subsequently joined Amura Healthcare as a junior Health Coach. I've also had the opportunity to present a case report at a national-level conference and attend approximately 10 conferences in my field of interest, which has helped me grow my professional network and fill knowledge gaps.
Furthermore, I have expertise in designing and planning animal experiments, handling animals (rats and mice), and administering drugs through various routes (such as oral gavage, intraperitoneal, and intravenous). I possess technical skills in R-programming, Microsoft Excel, protocol development for research projects (including systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and differential gene expression studies), and proficiency in operating statistical software like SAS and MS-Office tools. I'm also experienced in conference presentations and research article writing.
Currently, I serve as a Health Coach at Amura Healthcare since October 4th, 2021. Additionally, I have recently enrolled in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the University of New Haven and am on track to graduate in May 2024.

I work with patients to identify the factors that are contributing to their fluctuating blood pressure and blood sugar levels. This may include things like their diet, exercise habits, stress levels, and medications. Once I have a good understanding of the causes, I can develop a personalized plan to help them manage their condition.
I also provide counseling to patients who are trying to quit smoking. This includes helping them to understand the benefits of quitting, develop a quit plan, and cope with cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
I worked with them to develop a more realistic plan that fit into there lifestyle. I also helped them to identify and manage the stress triggers that were causing their blood sugar levels to spike. As a result of our work together, the patient was able to bring his blood sugar levels under control and reduce his risk of complications. I am passionate about helping people to live healthier lives. I believe that everyone has the potential to improve their health, and I am committed to providing my patients with the support and resources they need to succeed.
As a Clinical Pharmacist at RUAS, I was responsible for reviewing patient prescriptions and counseling patients on the safe and effective use of their medications. This included checking for drug interactions, ensuring that patients were taking the correct dosage, and providing education on side effects and how to manage them. I also worked with patients who were trying to quit smoking, helping them to develop a quit plan and manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
