  • The City of New York operates the largest E9-1-1 emergency communications system in the United States, handling more than 11 million calls per year. The City's E9-1-1 system is supported by various services, systems, and operations provided by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), which include Fire Dispatch and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). While there is coordination of call management services, these three operations historically have been managed independently, both geographically and technically. In early 2004, the City of New York began an initiative titled the Emergency Communications Transformation Program (ECTP) to consolidate its emergency communications services, specifically the Call Taking and Dispatch functions for the NYPD and FDNY public safety agencies, into cohabited facilities supported by integrated systems.
  • Responsibilities
  • Worked with business owners (NYPD, FDNY, Verizon, Lockheed and Northrop Grumman) to gather requirements and design solutions around those requirements from Data storage, processes, governance, risk, issues management and document management perspective. Point person for working with the business teams to consolidate and come up with solutions which could meet business challenges.

  • Liberty Mutual is an Insurance company which has its presence in different countries providing insurance for auto, home and life. Its top management and designated employees used reports which were created using BRIO. Initially our priority was to create a business case for switching over from BRIO to Microsoft reporting technologies and then create complex dashboards for the users. One of the main dashboards was the Underwriting Dashboard. One of the driving forces behind the development of the Underwriting Dashboard was a need to consolidate a fragmented, time consuming process into one that is both is streamlined and user friendly. With a dashboard we simply click on the business subject of interest, select in the appropriate parameters for the desired report and view report. This dashboard contained hundreds of reports classified as Dashboard/KPI’s reports, Highest Summary reports, Lowest Summary reports and Details/Listing reports containing information about brokers, broker summary, broker activity and detailed information reports. This dashboard was created to provide a reporting tool that allows Underwriters to analyze and manage their portfolios at a high level while at the same time maintaining the ability to access the detailed information required the day-day operations of an insurance department.
  • This dashboard was in response to feedback that the existing application currently cannot capture a comprehensive picture of Broker performance. The application’s modern technology allows for the transformation of raw data gathered and performs complex analysis on the data captured. Similarly on the same grounds submissions dashboard and claims dashboard were created. Business data catalogs were extensively used to fetch data from SAP servers and to present the data as metadata instances to third party tools and display it to the end users after processing and formatting it.

  • Involved in interacting with business users, gathering business requirements. Worked with technical leads and project managers to gather and discuss strategies for implementation.
