Since relocating to the USA in March 2023, I have been focused on advancing my career in public health. I am currently pursuing certification through the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE), having successfully completed the first phase. Preparing to sit for the NAVLE in December marks a significant step in my commitment to integrating veterinary medicine with public health initiatives, fostering community health and well-being.
During my final year of my bachelor's degree, I had the privilege of working at Advanced Pet Hospital and Research Center Pvt Ltd in Bishalnagar, Kathmandu. This experience was invaluable in shaping my career goals, particularly in the realm of medicine and public health. Working closely with dogs during this transformative period solidified my passion for advocating for animal well-being and highlighted the importance of integrating veterinary care within public health initiatives.
For my bachelor's thesis, I independently conducted research projects, focusing on developing and analyzing my findings. This experience allowed me to enhance my research skills, deepen my understanding of the subject, and effectively manage my time to ensure timely completion of the work.
As a veterinary intern at Valley Animal Clinic, I gained hands-on experience in the comprehensive care of dogs. This included learning how to administer treatments, effectively restrain dogs for various procedures, and maintain control in potentially challenging situations. This practical experience was invaluable in honing my veterinary skills and ensuring the well-being of our canine patients.
At Sneha's Care, the largest animal welfare organization in Nepal, I gained extensive knowledge in animal welfare and learned to interact with various species. During my time there, I developed skills in understanding animal behaviors, forming bonds with them, and advocating for their well-being. This experience deepened my commitment to promoting humane treatment and welfare for all animals.
During my time as a volunteer at the Central Zoo, I had my initial exposure to working with animals. This experience provided me with fundamental knowledge about caring for wild animals, understanding their behaviors, and ensuring their proper feeding. It was a valuable introduction to the world of animal care and set the foundation for my future endeavors in the field.
