Activities

Outreach and Mentoring Activities
  • STEM Outreach Volunteer Participated in STEM events and educational workshops, including the Minnesota Academy of Science. Volunteered in seed dispersal activities, engaging with K-2 students (up to 125 participants) to foster an understanding of plant biology.
  • Educational Volunteer at Minnesota State Fair (2023) Hosted an interactive activity, "What Minnesota Plant Disease Are You?", to educate participants on plant pathology—promoted awareness of plant health's importance to agriculture and ecosystems through engaging, hands-on learning.
  • Teaching Assistant – Principles of Plant Pathology taught laboratory sessions and graded assignments for approximately 21 undergraduates. Provided hands-on instruction, guided practical experiments, and clarified key concepts to improve student understanding of plant pathology.
  • Research Lab Internship Program Leader led a summer internship program mentoring two high school students, three undergraduates, and one master’s student. Provided hands-on training in microbial research, contributing to developing next-generation STEM talent.
