Peri Wilson

I have grown up around animals all my life, so my drive to help was instilled in me from a young age. I have had the wonderful opportunity to raise and care for many animals: cats, hamsters, fish, and a dog. I have also been fortunate enough to experience working with exotic animals like a Eurasian Lynx, an African Serval, and camels to name a few. I have known from the time I was eleven years old that I wanted to become a veterinarian who could help heal and ease the suffering of animals.

• Furry Friends Animal Rescue, I have volunteered over 150 hours with this organization and have worked with them since 2016. Duties include sanitizing the holding area of adoptable cats, cleaning food and water bowls, assessing cats’ general health and well- being, communicating with fosters and other volunteers, and administering medications when required.
• Winnie Carter Wildlife Center, I worked as a student at the Winnie Carter Wildlife Center and logged over 145 hours of animal experience with the facility. It is there that I assisted in taking care of all manner of exotic animals.
