Assisting patients who need support with their medications, especially those who are underinsured or have limited insurance coverage, requires close collaboration with various pharmaceutical assistance programs. These initiatives, supported by pharmaceutical companies, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies, provide essential financial aid, allowing patients to access medications at little to no cost. This involves working alongside healthcare providers and pharmacists and engaging with insurance companies to facilitate patients' medication management. The process includes assisting with prior authorizations, keeping patients informed about their medication status, overseeing prescription refills, and distributing samples during consultations with pharmaceutical representatives.
Additionally, responsible for vaccine management, ensuring that vaccines are stored and handled according to established protocols. This responsibility includes developing a comprehensive plan for their safeguarding. In vaccine management, oversee the ordering process, inventory control, storage, and handling procedures. Meticulously record the temperatures of refrigerators and freezers twice daily and promptly address any anomalies that fall outside acceptable ranges. To optimize efficiency, implement a stock rotation system to ensure that vaccines with shorter expiration dates are used first. Furthermore, reconcile private vaccines and Vaccines for Children (VFC) with ShowMeVax.
