Summary

I started work as a Public Safety Dispatcher with the California Highway Patrol in January of 2006. I promoted to a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor I (first line supervisor) in 2013 and was promoted to a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor II (manager) in February of 2018. Once promoted to manager, i facilitated the consolidation of two communications centers for the California Highway Patrol in April of 2018 and wrote policies and procedures for the new combined center. In November of 2018, I facilitated and managed the dispatch center through the devastating Camp Fire which destroyed the entire Town of Paradise, California. I currently provide oversight and guidance for my supervisory team with any internal investigations needed or any disciplinary actions needed for subordinate staff. I currently review annual appraisals for dispatch staff and conduct annual performance evaluations on supervisory staff. I also write correspondence as needed for any policy changes or disciplinary memorandums. I meet with allied agencies frequently for disaster preparedness and to discuss the implementation of emergency action plans. I currently review and approve schedules and overtime and approve or deny as needed. I participate in the hiring process for new dispatchers and/or supervisors to include screening applications, conducting interviews, sending selected candidates to our Investigative Services Unit and make sure the candidates successfully complete the medical and psychological evaluations. I am currently a certified dispatcher with the California Highway Patrol and assist my staff on the operations floor and respond to emergency situations when needed.
