I graduated from LPN nursing school in May 2010 and started working as a nurse fall of 2010. Before working as an LPN I worked as a CNA for two years. Overall I have 12 years of experience in nursing. I have worked in long-term-care facilities, Alzheimer’s-Dementia units, rehab/skilled facilities, and pediatric homecare nursing. I am currently working in a plasma donation center as a medical supervisor. Over time I have gained knowledge on taking care of dementia patients, post-op patients, and patients with aging complications and assisting with patients' psychosocial well-being. Working at win plasma center has been quite a change with more of a clinic setting. I occasionally work as an agency nurse to brush up on my patient care skills.
I worked as an LPN through agency Caring hands at Long-term and skilled facility. My responsibilities include medical administration, wound care, physical assessment of patients, initial admission of patients; monitoring and assessing diabetic patients and educating on management of diabetes. Supervision of CNAs as they give direct care to patients. Also, take and initiate orders given by doctors.
