Harker Heights

Summary

To whom it may concern: I’d like to express my interest becoming a member of your staff, Being a native and graduate of Killeen Independent School District, I have firsthand knowledge of what it is like to grow up in a military transient community. Being a current educator in the district, I also am very well acquainted with the limitations, barriers, and opportunities available through Federal and state funded programs to assist students in and out of the classroom. Ensuring that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education is the district’s main mission. I understand that this is made possible by several funding sources from Local and Federal Education Agencies. To continue closing the achievement gap between high- and low performing students, collaboration and compliance is pertinent. As a classroom teacher and head coach I have extensive experience counseling students and parents concerning the availability of special programs, services, and supports. As a classroom teacher, I assist with assessing, evaluating, and compiling data for academic meetings on a regular basis. I am very familiar with current issues and concerns that both parents and educators have concerning local, state, and federal requirements and timelines with respect to special programs. I will ensure that the campus remains current on all federal and state regulations on a regular basis for continued effectiveness. I will also ensure that all staff and parents are informed of important information pertaining to students. Assisting, monitoring, and supervising instructional programs and providing professional learning opportunities for staff is another area I will be a great asset. I am very confident that I have the skill set needed to become a vital asset to your campus. Please review and consider my resume (attached). I have the skillset, enthusiasm, drive, and confidence to succeed if afforded the opportunity to champion this position.
