• Full time Staff Nurse 1 – Medical- Surgical Intensive Care Unit, reports to my Charge nurse, Head nurse. Had my BLS on July, 2012 and ACLS on August, 2012. Handling critical care equipments like ventilator machines, hemodynamic monitoring system, infusion pumps, CRRT machine, ECG machine, cardiac monitor, defibrillator, EVD/ ICP monitoring system, arctic warmer, ultrasound machine, POCT machine.
• Provides total patient care as assigned.
• Plans and provides patient care according to the unit- based standards.
• Integrates trans-cultural principles into nursing care.
• Communicates and/ or documents all relevant information as per established standards.
• Maintains positive, professional interpersonal relationships with patients and their families, co- workers, and other members of the health care team.
• Serves on Nursing Affairs’ committees as assigned.
• Reports equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/ or reduction of supply inventory to Head Nurse or designee.
• Leads unit- based Performance Improvement activities.
• Participates on in- patient education programs.

• Full time staff nurse – Critical care unit, reports to my head nurse and Manager. Had my Basic Critical Care Training (2001) before entering the unit. I passed my PALS (2002), IV therapy course (2001 and 2006), BLS course and ACLS course (2004 and 2007). I handle special equipments like ventilator machines, infusion pumps, GOMCO suction machines, IABP monitors, hemodynamics monitoring system, ECG machine, cardiac monitors/ defibrillators,
• Administers intensive care and management of patients in critical conditions, typically:
• Receives and carries out Doctor’s orders as specified.
• Secures consents from relatives on admission policies.
• Interprets ECG and reports accordingly.
• Assists in minor, medium, and major operations.
• In case of emergency, initiates CPR, starts IV, HGT and defibrillates patient.
• Monitors equipments vital to ICU care.
• Prepares aseptic and isolation techniques.
• Records/ reports condition or progress of patients.
• Ensures that proper endorsement is given to the incoming shift.
• Monitors duties of aides and gives instructions and supervision in carrying out simple nursing care and procedures.
• Gives health teachings, psychological reassurance and starts rehabilitation; prepares nursing care plan.
• Makes crucial decisions on admission of cases, room assignments, reservations, and priorities in the use of monitors and other equipments.
