Rachel Garcia

As a high school student currently attending Yonkers High School, I am seeking a part-time role to further develop my abilities and contribute to a positive work environment. I'm a responsible and motivated student who is ready to apply my education in the workplace. Known for excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Passionate about continuous learning and professional development.

• Church community service (I was in a church band, had weekly practices, and played live shows every week)
• Charity event (The school club I am involved with curated a event to give free clothes and essentials to people) 2024
• Saw Mill River clean up 2022
• Marathon Volunteer work (helped give out medals and water to the runners) 2023
• Food drive (worked with other students to collect food cans and turkeys for thanksgiving)
• Junior achievement (read to children of ages 5-10 and talk about teaching them them about future careers and helping them develop skills in saving and investing)
• Church food drive (helped organize the foods and drinks into bags and helped hand them out to people)

I am currently taking Ib courses (IB classes, part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme). These are courses that prepares students for university and life beyond, emphasizing critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship. I am a part of two clubs at my school the first is advancement club where we give back to the community with charity events and work with other clubs to better our community. The second is a college readiness club where we further develop our skills and get into depth about the experience. I also help out with other school activities like game events and volunteer helping teachers with work.
