Driven by a passion for technology and helping others, I excelled as a University Teaching Assistant, using my knowledge in Python, Unreal Engine, Zbrush, and Maya to help students with programming and learn the asset pipeline to discover what field would be best for them.

University Teaching Assistant

During the semester of January 2023, I did two teaching assistant jobs. One involved gaming and the asset pipeline for creating a game level, while the other one was for Anthropology.

During Asset Pipeline, I did the following:

  • Monitored student progress to identify weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement, such as giving comments on the game level being created.
  • Built and maintained professional relationships with students and faculty members.
  • Documented attendance and completed assignments to maintain full class and student records.

During Anthropology, I did the following:

  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • Paid attention to detail while completing assignments, such as making sure assignments were graded properly.
  • Assisted with the development and implementation of new course materials to enhance the learning experience, such as using a program called Kahoot that helps students learn in a fun, competitive way.

In August of 2022, I did a semester in beginning programming. During this job, I did the following:

  • Facilitated activities in small groups to reinforce concepts taught by the class teacher, such as labs we had on Fridays.
  • Hold Zoom help hours so students can get help with assignments outside of class.
  • Helped with grading assignments and tests, providing constructive feedback to students based on results.
  • Copied, organized, and distributed classroom assignments or other paperwork, such as practice programming before upcoming tests.

Accomplishments

  • Collaborated with a team of 5 in the development of Wonderland, an alt. game created to educate people about the fears children have, as well as Alice and Wonderland Syndrome (hinted in the title).

  • Collaborated with a team of roughly 10 in the development of Compound, a first-person horror game that features PS2-like graphics to entertain and scare the player. It features a mechanic of taking two of the same item and compounding them to make the same but better-valued object.

  • Collaborated with a team of 20+ in the development of Bears, Barnacles, and Brawls, a bar manager game where you must serve beer, clean up spills, clean dishes, and make your customers happy. This game is featured on Steam and has over 6k downloads.
